Why Saint-Pierre matters on a cruise clock
Before 1902, Saint-Pierre was Martinique’s cultural capital. The eruption killed most of the town’s population and left ruins that still frame visits today. Museums and waterfront walks make the story tangible without requiring a summit hike.
From Fort-de-France, Saint-Pierre sits naturally on a north route that may also include Pelée viewpoints and an optional rum stop. It is not a realistic add-on if you already committed to a full south beach day.
